Description
Concrete is a 2002 album that marked the end of L.A. band Fear Factory's impressive series of albums for Roadrunner Records, despite being their first.

Confused? Let us clarify - or you can read the two sets of liner notes included in the package. Prior to signing with Roadrunner, Fear Factory recorded a full album in 1990 with producer Ross Robinson. Although the band had a falling out with Robinson, a cassette recording of that album led to their signing with Roadrunner.

After the success of 1995's Demanufacture, Roadrunner acquired the album rights from Robinson but delayed its release until 2002, during the band's hiatus from the label.

More intriguing than the backstory is the music itself. Concrete is a treasure trove for Fear Factory fans - half of the songs are new, while the other half were re-recorded for their debut album, Soul of a New Machine. Fans may even recognize bits of the new songs that appeared on later albums.

Above all, Concrete solidifies Fear Factory's early mastery of the heavy verse-melodic chorus formula that influenced many nu-metal bands. To commemorate its first-ever LP release, we have remastered Concrete for a gun metal grey vinyl pressing. An essential part of the Fear Factory legacy!
