The Strokes - Angles

There's seldom a need to use the phrase return to form if you never really drop off, but The Strokes found themselves in a different spot for 2011's Angles, ten years since their rapid ascent and equally sudden plateau.

A public re-assessment of sorts then, and one that found them in a rich vein of songwriting form - tantilizingly close to the level of Is This It. Highlights aplenty then - fan favourite Machu Pichu rubs shoulders with killer singles Taken for A Fool and Under Cover of Darkness but there's so much to love about this record it's almost churlish to pick out highlights.
